Steve Coogan urges Addiscombe residents to support the NHS

steve cooganComedian and actor Steve Coogan joined Sarah Jones, Labour’s Candidate for Croydon Central and Addiscombe Councillors Sean Fitzsimons and Mark Watson on Cherry Orchard Road for a rally to Save the NHS this week.

At a packed rally he explained why he is supporting Sarah Jones and why the NHS is at the heart of what it means to be Labour  – what we can achieve when we work together for the greater good.

He told a packed crowd:

“I am supporting Sarah Jones and The Labour Party because this will be a close election so as far as I am concerned, it should be ‘all hands on deck’. This will be a fight all the way to the finish line.”

“We have a few days left to save the NHS from the clutches of a Tory Government who over the last five years have demonstrated their utter disrespect for the institution we hold so dear to our hearts, and in many cases literally couldn’t live without.”

“This election is a battle between the cynical Tories that prey on vulnerable people’s worst fears and Labour who believe in kindness and a generosity of spirit. I know which side I am on.”

“Sarah Jones is exactly the sort of MP that Croydon needs – she has lived in Croydon all her life and cares what happens here. She has real experience working for the NHS and in housing, and will make sure the people of Croydon get the funding and services they deserve.”
