Street Lights Installation Programme to complete in the Addiscombe Ward by end of May 2015

Since May 2014, a number of residents have complained about the lack of progress over the installation of the new street lights. Installation works started on some streets in Addiscombe in late 2013, but effectively ground to a halt a few months later. One of the reasons for this delay, along side problems with UK Power Networks, was the previous Council Administration decision to give permission to Skanska UK to move to new areas in the South of the borough, where it was easier to install the new street lights.
Soon after the local elections, a review of the whole contract was undertaken by Croydon’s Scrutiny Committee. One of your local councillors, Sean Fitzsimons, took part in this review of the Skanska’s PFI contract, and made a number of recommendations. A copy of the  topic report on the Street Lighting PFI can be found on the council website.

We followed up the Scrutiny Report with a Question to the 26th January 2015 Full Council to which we got the following positive response. Please scroll down the list to find when works will start in your road.
